DAY TRIP KINABALU PARK + PORING HOT SPRING 

KINABALU PARK established as one of the National Park of Malaysia in 1964, is Malaysia’s first World Heritage Site designated by UNESCO in December 2000.  Also the Centre of Plant Diversity for South East Asia.  The Park boasts more than 5,000 vascular plant species and the Park has no shortage of fauna as well, being home to some 90 lowland mammal species and many others.  Kinabalu Park located on the West Coast of Sabah, it covers an area of 754 square kilometers surrounding Mount Kinabalu.  The park headquarters is 88 kilometers away from the city of Kota Kinabalu, approximately 2 hours drive.

The main attraction at the Park is none other than the majestic Mount Kinabalu, one of the highest mountains in South East Asia standing 4095.2 meter.  Surrounding the Kinabalu Park is a multitude of natural attraction.

A visit to Kinabalu Park will never be perfect without swinging by PORING HOT SPRING.  Poring is located in the lowlands – a contrast to the Parks HQ.  De-stress and soak away the sores and aches of your muscles in the spring’s hot sulphuric minerals, deemed to have healing properties and very popular among the locals.

Other than the natural hot spring main attraction at Poring Hot Spring, there are also other interesting areas in the park to be visited such as the butterfly farm, the Poring Orchid Conservation Centre, the tropical garden, the Poring Canopy Walkway and the Rafflesia flower site.

ITINERARY :

Meet at hotel lobby at 0730 and depart from Kota Kinabalu City to Kinabalu Park for 2 hours drive.  Along the way, a stopover at Pekan Nabalu for local produce such as fruit, handicraft and vegetables.

Around 0930 will arrive at Kinabalu Park and enjoy the cool mountain air. Go to Kinabalu Museum.

Then, we'll proceed for Jungle Guided walk with park naturalist and observe nature’s  plant, trees and listen to the sound of the jungle.

At 1200, we'll have our lunch at restaurant in front of Poring Hot Spring which takes  approximately 45 minutes drive away.

After lunch, continue tour to Poring Hot Spring.  Explore the rainforest from  Canopy walkway suspended 31 meters on the canopy of tropical trees.  Then dip in the open air bath tub and let the open air bath tub and let the invigorating Sulfurous water stimulates the body and many well maintained trails to explore the wonders of the tropical rainforest.

Depart back to Kota Kinabalu at 1500.
