LOK KAWI WILDLIFE PARK
Officially open to the public on the 17th
February 2007 and located along the Penampang – Papar old road and fully
developed by the Sabah Wildlife Department.
The park consists of 2 components : zoological & botanical. The main
objective of the park is to become a family-oriented park and the emphasis is
put on the Children’s Zoo. Among the inhabitants of the zoo ( zoological
component ) are the Borneo Pgymy Elephants , Proboscis Monkey, Malayan Tiger,
as well as some different species of deer. The botanical component, on the
other hand; offers visitors the opportunity to go jungle trekking along the
botanical trail. The paved trails is about 1.4km long. However, for leisurely
strolls, visitors are only advised walk halfway along the trail.

Animal Show (Twice daily) -
Time : 11am & 3pm (no show on Friday, school & public holidays.)
Elephant Ride (Twice a day but
only available on weekends, school and public holidays) - Time: 10 am & 2pm
Animal Feeding Sessions (am to
pm – scheduled)
Tram Service - Option to hop
on the train ride (pay extra MYR 2 p/person) to tour the wildlife park ground
(for guest who doesn’t like walking) time: 10 am, 11 am, 2 pm & 3 pm

lobby and depart to Lok Kawi Wildlife Park, Approximately 20 minutes drive.

In the parts, arrival of Sabah were displayed
under 3 major habitat. The forest canopy zone Orang Utan, bats, snake and eagles. The forest floor zone had
large animals includes sun bear and elephant. The third zone had monkey, turtles,
crocodile, and proboscis monkey. Other attraction include botanical garden information centre,
reptile house, children zoo, Aviary and a camping area.
